Ed Hogan

Managing Partner

Ed Hogan has over 30 years’ experience in commodity, trade and offtake finance.  He is responsible for the management and the strategic direction of Rock Elm.  Prior to Rock Elm he was President and CEO of Standard Chartered Trade Services Corporation, Standard Chartered Bank’s physical trade company subsidiary.

He was also co-head of commodity finance and ran the commodity securitization business at Citigroup, and held senior positions in commodity finance and derivatives at Citibank, UBS and Merrill Lynch.   He holds an MBA from Rutgers University and a BA from Dartmouth College.

Karr McCurdy

Partner

Karr McCurdy has over 35 years of geologic and project development experience combined with a background in executive management, finance, and technical advisory.  Karr was CEO of minerals industry advisor Behre Dolbear and served as global head of mining and metals for Standard Chartered Bank and Citigroup.

He has completed over 200 transactions valued over $100 billion and has personally visited hundreds of mines and downstream operations. As a geologist, he discovered and developed the Pueblo Viejo gold mine in the Dominican Republic. Karr earned an MBA from Thunderbird and a BSc (geology) from the University of Michigan. 

Sean Mulhearn

Sean Mulhearn has over 30 years of experience in commodity structured finance and commodity derivatives in Australia, London, New York, and Singapore.  He spent 20 years of his career with Citigroup where his roles included co-head of commodity finance, global head of commodity sales, head of Asian commodities, and head of Australian fixed income.


He also held leadership positions in commodity sales and commodity finance at Standard Chartered Bank, JP Morgan, and ANZ.  He holds a BEc from the University of Sydney.    

Paul Gregg

Chief Operating Officer / CFO

Paul Gregg has over 25 years of experience in COO and senior risk management roles for commodity derivatives and financial market operations in New York and Singapore. Prior to joining Rock Elm Capital, Paul was COO for Commodities and Financial Markets at Macquarie Bank, COO for Global Commodities at Standard Chartered Bank, and Chief Administrative Officer for Commodities at Lehman Brothers.

He also held senior positions at Citigroup in risk, finance and operations, and started his career at FINRA. Paul received his MBA from New York University - Stern School of Business and his BS (Finance) from Manhattan College.
